My day job is doing radio and TV projects at Oregon Public Broadcasting, I'm also the Programs VP on the SEJ Board. In that capacity, I'm delighted we once again have an unofficial SEJ conference blog!
Kudos and thanks to Lisa Palmer, our brave new SEJ member who's already volunteered to be this year's blogmistress - woo hoo!
My heartfelt thanks also to our pro blogger Amy Gahran, who started it all back at Burlington, Vermont 2006, and kept it going at Stanford, California 2007.
And, of course, many thanks to all SEJ bloggers then and now - post early and often about what you're doing in Roanoke.
See you next week!
Christy

Greetings. I am a communication instructor at Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania and am teaching an environmental journalism class for the first time. While I am at the conference, my students will be summarizing toxic release inventory data for their hometowns and writing a story on what they find. They will also use www.scorecard.org as a source for their stories. If you have any suggestions for them, please feel free to comment. One of the biggest problems with this assignment is that the scorecard data, although great,is from 2002.
Any suggestions.
